Juniper and Cloud Network Engineer

Job Profile Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer to spearhead the migration of critical applications from our Juniper-based on-premises data centre infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a high-impact lead role offering the opportunity to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of on-prem and cloud networking solutions, while guiding a team of engineers to ensure a seamless transition with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, design, and execution of network infrastructure migration from on-premises Juniper-based systems to AWS cloud environment
- Own the mapping of existing Juniper and Cisco network configurations to AWS networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, NACLs, etc.)
- Champion network security best practices including encryption, firewalls, DDoS protection, and compliance requirements across the team




- Define and oversee comprehensive testing strategies to validate network performance, redundancy, and failover capabilities
- Guide and mentor engineers in identifying and resolving network issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring post-migration reliability
- Own the creation of detailed technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for the on-prem and AWS network infrastructure
- Serve as the primary technical liaison in the network space and work across engineering, SREs, and infrastructure teams to align and drive migration strategy

Required Skills

- MS in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred
- Juniper, Cisco Professional or Expert certifications
- 10+ years of network experience in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco or Juniper environments, with at least 23 years in a technical lead or principal capacity
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network security protocols
- Solid BGP / OSPF protocols understanding, configuration, and troubleshooting skills
- Strong understanding of IPsec and SSL VPNs
- Experience with Juniper and Cisco firewalls and switches
- Experience with common network automation tools: Python, Perl, or other scripting languages and tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins)
- Experience with AWS networking and migrations from on-prem to AWS

Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams, influence without authority, and drive alignment across cross-functional teams
