Bombay Ceylon Studio is looking for a Junior Architect to join our Mumbai-based design team.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented architect who is interested in working across architecture, interior design and project execution. The role will involve assisting with design development, technical drawings, documentation, coordination and site execution.
The ideal candidate should have a strong eye for design, good technical understanding and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing architectural and interior design concepts.
- Prepare architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections and details.
- Prepare working drawings and construction documentation.
- Assist with design presentations, material selections and project documentation.
- Coordinate with interior designers, consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Attend site visits and assist in monitoring execution.
- Review drawings and details against site conditions.
- Assist in resolving design and technical issues during execution.
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure drawings and information are issued on time.
- Assist with material specifications and schedules.
- Maintain project documentation and drawing records.
- Support senior architects and designers throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of professional experience in architecture or interior design.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from a recognised institution.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Working knowledge of SketchUp and other design/presentation software.
- Good understanding of architectural drawings and construction details.
- Basic understanding of materials, finishes and interior construction.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to visit project sites when required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with high-end residential, hospitality or commercial projects.
- Understanding of interior detailing and execution.
- Experience preparing detailed working drawings.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling and visualisation.
- Strong design sensibility and interest in contemporary architecture and interiors.
