We're Hiring: Junior Accountant | Kandivali East, Mumbai

We're a family-run group with two businesses: Shanti Scientific Solutions, a laboratory chemicals and solvents distributor and a Transport Company, a pan-India trucking operation with a fleet of around 50 trucks and branches across Maharashtra and beyond. We're looking for a Junior Accountant to handle accounts for both.

What you'll do

- Maintain separate books for both businesses in Tally Prime, recording sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journals
- Verify existing entries for accuracy and rectify errors in postings, ledgers, and classifications
- Scrutinise and cross-check monthly expense settlements from transport branches (fuel, tolls, driver advances, repairs) against supporting bills
- Cross-check books against invoices, bank statements, and GST records
- Assist with bank reconciliation, ledger scrutiny, and party-wise balance confirmations
- Support month-end closing and GST/TDS data preparation
- Flag discrepancies promptly and maintain proper documentation

What we're looking for
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (internship / articleship experience counts)




- Hands-on working knowledge of Tally Prime
- Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
- A sharp, analytical mind: you should be able to spot a wrong entry, understand why it's wrong, and fix it correctly
- Ability to handle two sets of books without mixing them up, with strong attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of GST and TDS is a plus; exposure to transport/logistics accounting is an added advantage
- B.Com / M.Com / Accounting Graduate
