About the Role

Sky News Punjab is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Journalist Interns / Freshers to join our News & Editorial team. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about current affairs, news reporting, field journalism, and digital media.

The selected candidate will work closely with the editorial team and gain practical experience in news gathering, reporting, interviewing, content creation, and field coverage.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor daily news, local developments, government activities, and current affairs.
- Research and gather information from reliable sources for news stories.
- Visit locations for on-ground reporting and field coverage as required.
- Conduct interviews with public representatives, officials, experts, and local sources.
- Prepare news reports, story briefs, and factual content for publication.
- Assist senior journalists and editors in developing news stories.
- Attend press conferences, public events, political events, and other important assignments.
- Verify facts, names, figures, statements, and other information before submitting stories.
- Identify potential news stories and share relevant leads with the editorial team.
- Coordinate with the camera and social media teams for news coverage.




- Assist in creating content for digital platforms, including website and social media.
- Follow editorial guidelines, deadlines, and professional journalism standards.
- Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and confidentiality while handling information.

Candidate Requirements

- Graduate or pursuing graduation in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Strong interest in news, current affairs, and journalism.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Ability to research and verify information.
- Comfortable with field reporting and meeting people from different backgrounds.
- Basic knowledge of social media and digital content platforms.
- Ability to work under deadlines and in a quick-paced newsroom environment.
- Willingness to travel locally for assignments when required.
- Knowledge of Punjabi and Hindi will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of English is preferred.
