About The Role As a Software Engineering Evaluator at Turing, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the capabilities of large language models and AI-driven coding solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to create, curate, and assess datasets that are fundamental to training and benchmarking AI systems.

This involves working closely with research teams to develop high-quality code examples, provide precise solutions, and correct code snippets across multiple programming languages including Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, Java, and JavaScript (including ReactJS). Your expertise in systems-level programming, performance optimization, and infrastructure will be essential in evaluating AI-generated code for efficiency, scalability, and correctness. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to refine AI models, develop verification mechanisms, and enhance enterprise-level AI coding solutions, contributing to the cutting-edge development of intelligent systems.





Qualifications The ideal candidate will have several years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on systems programming, backend development, or infrastructure. Candidates should possess expertise in languages such as JavaScript, Python, C/C++, Rust, and Go, and have a proven track record of building and deploying scalable, production-grade software.

A deep understanding of software architecture, design principles, debugging, and code review processes is required. Excellent communication skills are essential for articulating evaluation rationales clearly and effectively. Preference will be given to candidates with backgrounds from leading academic institutions such as Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, or the University of Pennsylvania, though significant practical experience and technical skill always take precedence over pedigree.

Responsibilities

- Curate high-quality code examples and solutions across various programming languages to support AI training and benchmarking initiatives.
- Evaluate and refine AI-generated code, focusing on correctness, performance, and reliability at the systems level.
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to improve AI-driven coding solutions based on industry benchmarks and best practices.
- Design and implement verification mechanisms to automatically assess the quality of solutions to software engineering tasks.




- Develop agents capable of verifying the integrity of systems-level and infrastructure code, and identifying error patterns for further analysis.
- Hypothesize and evaluate different stages of the software engineering cycle, including prototyping, architecture design, API development, deployment, monitoring, and operational maintenance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of datasets and evaluation frameworks to support robust AI model training and testing.

Benefits While this role is structured as a contractual engagement, it offers flexible working hours to accommodate your schedule, with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and up to 40 hours.
