Software Engineer Specialist

CORE PROFILE

This role will heavily contribute in maintaining existing services and implementing the next generation of Maya’s application services with significant focus on performance, automation, self-recovery, resiliency, and configurability.

NATURE OF WORK This section contains the key objectives for the role.

Build and maintain application services and related system components.

Design, plan, and implement services with maintainability, performance, resiliency, and scalability in mind.

Participate in implementing test automation of services alongside quality engineers.

Implement automation tools for various utilities such as testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerts.

Evaluate suitability of new tech stacks to current and new platforms.

Mentor and train newer team members on domain, development technology stack, and system architecture.

Expertise and mastery of Java, Git, Spring Framework, SQL

Familiarity with AWS capabilities

Build high-scalable, high-performant, and fault-tolerant services.

Decoupling of Account and Card transaction processing

Automate unit tests for 100% of new services.

Ensure 100% adherence to Regulatory, Compliance and Audit standards.

Contribute to overall platform modernization by working on platform enhancements and minimizing tech debts, ensuring the right mix of technology stack and implementation efficiency is used across services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS This section contains the required education and experience for the role.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

TECHNICAL SKILLS

5+ years software development experience.

At least 5 years of working with Java, Maven, Spring Framework, Spring Integration, Git, SQL and Oracle database.

Strong knowledge and experience in building and consuming RESTful web APIs.

At least 3 years of experience in writing unit test cases or any automated testing tool regardless of language.

At least 3 years of experience in writing unit tests and tests for any automated testing tool.

At least 3 years of working with build toolchains and CI tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or anything similar.

At least 3 years working with containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and cloud computing. (Amazon Web Services)

Experience with database transactions.

Experience in handling ISO messages is a plus.

Experience in handling HSM is a plus.

Experience with messaging systems, event-driven architecture.

Experience with load testing.

Experience with Agile Methodologies. (Scrum or Kanban)
