Position Overview

BNP Paribas Cardif is looking for a Run & Change Java Full‑Stack Engineer to join the IT IAM (Insurance Asset Management) Tribe, within the ULI (Unit‑Linked Investments) Squad. The role combines production‑support (“run”) duties – morning health‑checks, incident handling, security‑vulnerability remediation, and release deployment – with development (“change”) responsibilities such as designing, building, testing and maintaining Java‑ and Angular‑based applications that underpin Unit‑Linked order books, OPCVM lifecycle management and Asset‑Liability Matching. The engineer will work in an agile, cross‑functional team, translating business needs into reliable, high‑availability technical solutions.

Job Responsibilities

- Perform daily morning checks, compile and circulate status reports as part of a rotating shift.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve technical incidents; apply bug‑fixes and security patches.
- Support vendor (Starcust) release deployments and execute on‑call/night/weekend deployment plans (1‑2 times per month).
- Propose and implement improvements to reduce recurring incidents and support extreme‑scenario exercises.
- Provide first‑line assistance to users for technical issues.
- Design, develop, test and maintain Java (Spring Boot/Batch), Angular, SQL, Control‑M jobs and KSH scripts.
- Estimate effort, cost and timelines for change requests; create and keep technical documentation up‑to‑date.
- Prepare test environments, conduct non‑regression testing and ensure code stability before production release.
- Participate actively in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, retrospectives) and collaborate with business analysts, tech leads and product owners to turn functional requirements into robust technical solutions.

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)





- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in full‑stack development and production support of mission‑critical financial applications.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Java, Spring Framework (Boot, Batch), Angular and KSH scripting.
- Advanced Oracle SQL/PLSQL skills: stored procedures, analytical functions (OVER, PARTITION BY, RANK), query optimisation, execution‑plan analysis (EXPLAIN PLAN).
- Strong understanding of OOP, micro‑services architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Experience with automated testing tools (JUnit, Selenium, Gherkin/Cucumber).
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and ServiceNow for incident, problem and change management.
- Proficiency with DevOps / CI‑CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (or OpenShift).
- Fluency in English (C2) and intermediate French (B2).

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

- Functional knowledge of asset‑management processes or prior exposure to Starcust software.
- Experience with additional DevOps tools: Argo CD, XL Release, Ansible, Control‑M.
- Hands‑on work with Oracle Exadata/ExaCC, and familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace.
- Knowledge of quality‑lifecycle tools (ALM Octane) and security protocols (SAML2, OAuth2).
- Understanding of file‑exchange mechanisms (CFT).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a high‑availability, low‑risk environment and to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
