Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with strong expertise in BSS, Order-to-Cash (O2C), Java and Microservices to support the Verizon project.

The ideal candidate should have a strong software engineering background with minimum 5 years of hands-on coding experience in Java/Microservices, along with proven experience in designing enterprise-grade BSS and O2C solutions.

The candidate will be responsible for solution architecture, technical design, integration, modernization and providing technical leadership across complex telecom business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable, secure and highly available BSS and O2C solutions.

Translate business requirements into technical architecture and detailed solution designs.

Provide technical leadership to Java/Microservices development teams.

Remain hands-on with Java coding, POCs, code reviews and technical troubleshooting.

Design and implement Microservices-based applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Understand and architect end-to-end Order-to-Cash business flows.

Work closely with product, business, development, QA, DevOps and infrastructure teams.

Define service boundaries, APIs, integration patterns, data flows and dependencies.

Design integration between BSS applications, order management, billing, CRM, provisioning and downstream systems.

Review existing applications and recommend modernization and cloud-native solutions.

Ensure architecture adheres to enterprise security, performance, scalability and reliability standards.

Identify technical risks, architectural gaps and dependencies and provide appropriate solutions.

Conduct architecture and design reviews.

Support production issues, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex technical problems.

Mentor technical teams and provide architectural guidance.

Participate in client discussions and present technical solutions to stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of Telecom Business Support Systems (BSS).
- Strong knowledge of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes.
- Understanding of end-to-end telecom order lifecycle, including:

- Knowledge of TM Forum / telecom BSS standards and APIs is highly desirable.

Java & Microservices

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Java coding experience.
- Solid experience in Java/J2EE.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API design.
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring MVC and Spring Data.
- Strong knowledge of Java 8/11/17 or higher.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design principles and design patterns.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and Microservices architecture.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Hands-on experience in code reviews, debugging and performance optimization.

Solution Architecture

- Experience designing enterprise-scale, scalable and highly available applications.
- Strong understanding of Microservices, SOA and distributed architecture.
- Experience defining service boundaries and API contracts.
- Knowledge of API Gateway, service discovery, load balancing and fault-tolerance patterns.




- Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ or other messaging platforms is preferred.
- Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with enterprise application integration and middleware technologies.

Cloud & DevOps

- Good understanding of AWS/Azure/GCP cloud environments.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.
- Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to Jenkins, Git, SonarQube and artifact repositories.
- Understanding of application monitoring, logging and observability.

Security

- Good understanding of application and API security.
- Experience with OAuth2, JWT and OpenID Connect.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization and secure API design.
- Knowledge of security best practices for Microservices.

Preferred Skills

- Prior experience in Telecom BSS/O2C projects.
- Experience with large-scale telecom operators or service providers.
- Verizon domain/project experience will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs / SID / eTOM.
- Experience with cloud-native BSS transformation and application modernization.
- Experience with event-driven architecture.
- Exposure to DevSecOps and SRE practices.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

Candidate Profile

- The ideal candidate should:
- Have 8 years of overall IT experience.
- Have minimum 5 years of hands-on Java/Microservices coding experience.
- Have strong experience in Telecom BSS and O2C.
- Have experience as a Solution Architect, Application Architect, Technical Architect or Senior Technical Lead.
- Be technically hands-on and not limited to architecture/design documentation.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of end-to-end O2C business processes.
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be capable of interacting directly with client and business stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's/masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
