Role Overview The Inventory Executive is responsible for the accuracy, control, and timely movement of stock across the warehouse. The role owns day-to-day inventory integrity — receiving, put-away, storage, cycle counting, issue/dispatch, and system transactions — so that physical stock always matches the warehouse management / ERP records. The incumbent works closely with warehouse operations, procurement, quality, and dispatch to prevent shortages, overstock, damage, and unexplained variance.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & inward: Verify inbound shipments against purchase orders / delivery notes; check quantity, condition, batch/lot and expiry; raise discrepancy notes and coordinate with procurement / vendors.
- Put-away & storage: Assign and record bin / rack locations; enforce FIFO / FEFO and segregation of quarantined, damaged, or rejected material; maintain aisle and location hygiene.
- System transactions: Post GRN, put-away, transfers, issues, adjustments, and returns in WMS / ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, or equivalent) on the same day as the physical movement.
- Stock control: Plan and execute daily / weekly cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and close variances with root-cause analysis and corrective action.
- Issuing & dispatch support: Pick, issue, and reconcile material against production / sales orders; support loading accuracy and documentation (packing lists, invoices, e-way bills as applicable).
- Documentation & compliance: Maintain inward/outward registers, batch cards, damage reports, and audit trails; support internal, statutory, and customer audits.
- Reporting: Prepare daily stock summaries, ageing / slow-moving reports, near-expiry alerts, and variance dashboards for the Warehouse / Inventory Manager.
- Coordination: Liaise with quality for inspections, with stores/production for replenishment, and with security for gate-in/gate-out control.
- Safety & 5S: Follow warehouse safety rules, PPE,
and material-handling procedures; keep storage areas organised and audit-ready.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commerce, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2–5 years of inventory / warehouse experience in a manufacturing, 3PL, FMCG, pharma, or retail distribution environment.
- Hands-on working knowledge of WMS or ERP inventory modules and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic data cleaning).
- Familiarity with barcode / RFID scanning, batch-lot control, and FIFO / FEFO practices.
Skills & Competencies
- Accuracy & attention to detail — disciplined counting, posting, and documentation with low error rates.
- Numerical & analytical ability — comfortable reconciling quantities, values, and location-level stock.
- Process discipline — follows SOPs, escalation paths, and cut-off times without shortcuts.
- Communication — transparent written notes and verbal coordination with operations, vendors, and auditors.
- Problem solving — traces variances to receiving, put-away, picking, or system errors and closes the loop.
- Integrity — trustworthy handling of high-value or controlled stock; no unauthorised adjustments.
Working Conditions Based at the warehouse floor and inventory office. The role involves walking the aisles, climbing safe racking access where required, and using handheld scanners. Shift work, early starts, or weekend / month-end stock-takes may apply depending on site operations. Personal protective equipment must be worn in operational areas.
Key Performance Indicators (Indicative)
- Inventory accuracy (book vs. physical) at location and SKU level.
- Cycle-count completion rate and variance closure turnaround.
- Same-day posting of receipts, issues, and transfers.
- Ageing / near-expiry / slow-moving stock flagged within SLA.
- Audit findings related to inventory documentation and control.
Pay: ₹10,013.05 - ₹32,639.51 per month
