Role Overview :

We are looking for a Principal-level Java Backend and AI/GenAI Engineering professional with 16 - 18 years of experience in designing and delivering highly scalable enterprise platforms.

The role combines deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, distributed systems, cloud architecture, and modern AI/GenAI technologies.

Key Responsibilities :

Architecture &

- Backend Engineering :
- Define and drive architecture for large-scale, secure, and highly available backend platforms.
- Lead the design and development of Java and Spring Boot-based Microservices.
- Own high-level and low-level architecture and design decisions.
- Establish engineering standards around scalability, performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Apply SOLID principles, design patterns, domain-driven design, and distributed-systems principles.

AI &

- GenAI Architecture :
- Define architecture and technical strategy for integrating GenAI capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Design and implement integrations with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and other approved AI platforms.
- Architect RAG-based solutions using vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, and knowledge repositories.
- Design scalable multi-agent applications using Agent SDKs and appropriate orchestration frameworks.

Prompt Engineering &

- AI Safety :
- Lead prompt engineering practices across AI-enabled applications.
- Design reusable prompt frameworks, validation mechanisms, guardrails, and fallback strategies.
- Define approaches for AI output validation, observability, reliability, and quality measurement.

Cloud &

- Distributed Systems :




- Architect and deploy cloud-native applications primarily on AWS and/or GCP.
- Design containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Drive scalable deployment, service orchestration, monitoring, and observability practices.

Data &

- Persistence :
- Design data architectures using PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and other enterprise data stores.
- Define database schemas, persistence strategies, indexing, and query optimization approaches.

Technical Leadership :

- Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical governance initiatives.
- Mentor senior engineers, technical leads, and architects.
- Conduct code and architecture reviews to maintain engineering quality.

Required Skills :

- 16 - 18 years of software engineering experience.
- Expert-level Java and Spring Boot expertise.
- Strong experience designing Microservices and distributed systems.
- Proven expertise in enterprise architecture and system design.
- Strong AWS and/or GCP experience.
- Hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Robust experience integrating LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini.
- Strong practical knowledge of RAG, vector databases, embeddings, and multi-agent architectures.
- Advanced understanding of prompt engineering, AI guardrails, and AI application architecture.
- Strong database and SQL expertise with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of Hibernate/JPA and enterprise persistence.
- Experience with TDD, unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Excellent technical leadership, stakeholder-management, and mentoring skills.
