About the Role

Shakoon Camps & Farmstay is a nature-based hospitality property near Nainital. We are looking for an experienced, responsible and hardworking All-Rounder Cook who can independently manage day-to-day food preparation and kitchen operations for our guests.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable preparing Indian, North Indian and local Kumaoni/Pahadi food, along with basic Chinese/Continental dishes.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner for guests.
- Cook high-quality North Indian, Indian and Kumaoni/Pahadi cuisine.
- Prepare non-vegetarian dishes including chicken, mutton and other meats.
- Prepare basic Chinese and Continental dishes.
- Prepare Kumaoni specialties and traditional Kumaoni thali.
- Maintain consistent taste, quality and presentation.
- Plan daily food preparation according to guest bookings and requirements.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food-safety standards.
- Properly store and handle vegetables, meat, dairy and other ingredients.
- Monitor kitchen stock and inform management about items that need to be purchased.
- Minimise food wastage and maintain proper portion control.
- Keep cooking equipment, utensils and work areas clean and organised.
- Coordinate with housekeeping/management regarding guest requirements.




- Be able to work independently in a small resort/farmstay kitchen.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, homestay, camp or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Indian/North Indian cuisine.
- Experience with Kumaoni/Pahadi cuisine is an advantage.
- Valuable knowledge of vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking.
- Ability to prepare food for small groups as well as larger guest bookings.
- Good hygiene and kitchen-management practices.
- Reliable, punctual and disciplined.
- Should be comfortable working and staying at a nature-based property.
- Ability to work flexible hours according to guest requirements.
- Previous hospitality experience preferred.
