GCP Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong GCP expertise to design, develop and migrate data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud migration, Python/PySpark and SQL, along with exposure to modern data orchestration and ML platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data engineering solutions on GCP.
- Work on data migration projects from on-premise or other cloud platforms to GCP.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, loading and validation as part of migration activities.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines using Python, PySpark and SQL.
- Work with GCP data services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub and Cloud Composer.
- Understand existing data architecture and identify opportunities for modernization during migration.
- Implement data quality, reconciliation and validation processes during migration.
- Build and manage workflows using Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer.
- Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers and application teams to support data and ML workloads.
- Work with Kubeflow and MLflow for ML workflow orchestration,



model lifecycle management and deployment-related activities.
- Troubleshoot performance, pipeline failures and data quality issues.
- Follow best practices around security, monitoring, scalability and cost optimization on GCP.
- Participate in technical discussions, requirement analysis and solution design.

Must-Have Skills

- 3 -10 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Solid hands-on experience with GCP.
- Strong SQL skills intermediate to advanced level.
- Hands-on experience with Python and PySpark.
- Strong understanding of Data Engineering concepts, ETL/ELT and data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience in at least one cloud platform, preferably GCP.
- Proven experience in data migration / cloud migration projects.
- Experience with BigQuery and GCP data services.
- Experience with Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer.
- Good understanding of data warehouse and data lake concepts.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Experience with Kubeflow.
- Experience with MLflow.
- Exposure to Machine Learning / MLOps workflows.
- Experience with Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and GCS.
- Experience migrating data from on-premise, AWS/Azure or legacy platforms to GCP.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes/Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD and Git.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality and monitoring tools.
