Human Resources Manager | People & HR Operations

Bengaluru (in-office) · Full-time · Reports to Chief of Staff and CEO

NeoSapien is looking for a proactive, hands-on HR qualified to own day-to-day people operations and help build a strong, high-performance culture as we scale. You'll own the full employee lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, engagement, policy, payroll, statutory compliance, and exits. This is a builder role for someone who thrives on ownership, ambiguity, and problem-solving in a fast-paced startup.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Payroll & Compensation: Run monthly payroll end-to-end, own expense and reimbursement workflows, and maintain compensation records, salary revisions, and full-and-final settlements.
- Statutory Compliance: Own PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments, and POSH. Manage filings, challans, and audit-ready records, own employment documentation (offers, contracts, NDAs, exits) and background verification, track labour law changes, and act as the point of contact for audits and inspections.
- Employee Lifecycle: Own onboarding end-to-end (offer, documentation, verification, induction), manage confirmations, transitions, and offboarding, and maintain the single source of truth for headcount and records.
- Leave, Attendance & Systems: Administer leave and attendance policies and tooling, and replace manual processes that break at scale with better workflows.




- Culture & Employee Experience: Drive engagement, celebrations, and team events, and be the first point of contact for people queries and grievances, handled with discretion.
- Founder's Office: Partner with the Chief of Staff and CEO on people decisions, hiring plans, and org-level matters, coordinate logistics for investor meetings and offsites, and step into cross-functional gaps as needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- 2+ years hands-on HR / People Ops experience, ideally as a generalist (startup experience preferred)
- Has personally run a full payroll and reimbursement cycle end-to-end
- Proficiency with HRMS / payroll tools (Keka, Zoho People, GreytHR, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Indian statutory compliance: PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments
- Experience drafting and maintaining HR policies and employment documentation
- Full employee lifecycle knowledge: onboarding, BGV, documentation, offboarding
- Ability to independently draft board-ready and leadership-ready HR reports
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a lean team with no dedicated HR support staff
- Strong ownership instinct, high attention to detail, clear communication, and discretion with confidential information
