Job Title: Plant HR
Location: API India (Applicable to all 3 Plants – Mumbai)
Reporting To: Head – HR (India)
Department: Human Resources
Job Purpose:
To manage end-to-end HR operations at the plant level ensuring compliance, workforce efficiency, employee engagement, and seamless coordination between management and the shopfloor workforce. The Plant HR will be the custodian of all people-related processes, labour law compliance, and industrial relations at the plant level.
Key Responsibilities (Roles):
1. Workforce Planning & Attendance Management
o Maintain daily manpower availability vs. requirement o Monitor absenteeism, overtime, and productivity o Coordinate with contract labour agencies for manpower supply
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
o Execute recruitment of worker/staff category in coordination with central HR o Ensure timely onboarding, induction, and documentation
1. Employee Relations & Welfare
o Maintain harmonious relations with workmen and unions (if applicable) o Conduct employee welfare activities, grievance handling o Drive worker engagement and satisfaction initiatives
1. Time Office & Payroll Support
o Ensure accurate data on attendance, leaves, overtime, and shift rosters o Verify inputs and coordinate with payroll team for salary processing
1. Compliance & Statutory Requirements
o Ensure adherence to Factories Act, ESIC, PF, Minimum Wages,
and other applicable labor laws o Maintain records/registers and coordinate with government authorities during inspections
1. Training & Development
o Identify skill gaps; coordinate technical & behavioural training for plant staff/workers o Maintain training records
1. Disciplinary Management
o Conduct domestic inquiries and disciplinary actions in case of misconduct o Maintain documentation and ensure fairness in all proceedings
1. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
o Partner with the EHS department to ensure safety awareness and compliance o Conduct periodic safety drills and toolbox talks
1. Performance Management & Appraisal Process
o Support implementation of PMS for plant employees o Collect and assist in review and validation of performance ratings
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Familiarity with local labour laws and practices
- Proactive, with an ability to handle floor-level situations effectively
- Good coordination and multitasking ability
Preferred Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in HR / Industrial Relations
- 12–15 years of experience in Plant/Factory HR (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Familiarity with time office software, HRMS (e.g., GreytHR), and statutory portals
Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,100,000.00 per year
