Role & responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our PCP team and take end-to-end ownership of the solution architecture across our platform landscape, driving technical direction, quality, and consistency at Allianz Technology.

You will

- Own the target architecture and roadmap for the HR Platform Applications landscape defining architecture principles, patterns, and guardrails across APIs, integrations, data, and security, and driving their adoption across teams.
- Translate business and functional requirements into modular, scalable, and secure end-to-end technical solutions, ensuring non-functional requirements — availability, performance, security, and cost-efficiency — are engineered in from the start.
- Guide solution design for recent and evolving capabilities, running design reviews and validating architectural decisions across the portfolio.
- Orchestrate cross-application dependencies and shared components, reducing technical debt through incremental modernization.
- Create and maintain architecture artifacts (e.g. solution blueprints, ADOIT repository content) that describe the current and target state of the landscape.
- Align with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Platform teams on standards, and drive architecture governance, IT risk assessments, and compliance reviews across the solution portfolio.
- Present architecture strategies, target states, and design decisions to audiences ranging from delivery teams to senior management and Enterprise Architecture Boards, acting as a key voice of architecture for the domain.
- Lead and develop a group of [number] solution architects — setting priorities, growing their skills, and ensuring consistent architectural quality across the landscape.
- Partner closely with functional consultants, developers,



and infrastructure specialists, and mentor development teams, to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, maintainable, and delivered to a high technical standard.

Preferred candidate profile

- Around 14+ years of experience in solution or enterprise architecture roles, including experience leading or coordinating a team of architects, with a proven track record of designing and delivering complex, large-scale IT solutions.
- Experience working within an established enterprise architecture setup/function, including its governance processes, review boards, and modeling standards.
- Solid understanding of integration methodologies, API-first design, and modern application architecture patterns (e.g. microservices, cloud-native, event-driven).
- Experience working within a platform/product environment, ideally with HR Platform Applications / HR applications or a comparable insurance/financial services IT landscape.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-system architectural issues.
- Confident presenter: able to prepare and deliver architecture presentations and design walkthroughs, exchanging ideas concisely and logically while driving budget-conscious, cost-effective design decisions.
- Proven stakeholder leadership and influencing skills across business, engineering, security, and operations audiences at various levels; excellent English communication.
- Ability to produce pragmatic architecture artifacts (reference architectures, standards, roadmaps) and drive their adoption.
- Proven experience across the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to solution design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is considered an advantage.
