About the Role

We are expanding our footprint in India and looking for a local HR professional to join our team. You will be the first HR on the ground in India, owning end-to-end recruitment and ensuring full compliance with local labor laws. This is a hands-on role with great growth potential as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

HR & Recruitment (70%)

- End-to-end recruitment: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and onboarding for local hires
- Ensure full compliance with Indian labor laws (PF, ESI, PT, gratuity, minimum wages, leave policy, employment contracts)
- Handle employee onboarding / offboarding and maintain personnel files
- Support payroll coordination with the finance / payroll vendor
- Advise the team on local HR practices and statutory requirements

Admin & Operations (30%)

- Basic office administration: attendance & leave tracking, travel & accommodation arrangements for visitors
- Coordinate with vendors (legal,



payroll, recruitment, office supplies)
- Support ad-hoc HR and admin tasks as the team grows

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- 1–3 years of HR generalist experience with a strong focus on recruitment and statutory compliance in India
- Solid understanding of Indian labor laws (Industrial Disputes Act, EPF & MP Act, ESI Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Indian recruitment channels (Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed, referral programs, campus hiring)
- Valuable communication skills in English (written & spoken)
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with remote supervision
- Comfortable working with a China-based team (some overlap with China business hours required)

Preferred Qualifications

- Hindi or other regional language proficiency (written & spoken)
