Job Summary The Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall supervision, discipline, safety, welfare, and smooth day-to-day functioning of the hostel. The warden will ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for all residents and maintain effective communication with management, students/residents, staff, and parents/guardians where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise the day-to-day activities and discipline of hostel residents.
- Maintain hostel rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
- Monitor attendance, entry and exit of residents, and maintain necessary records.
- Ensure the safety and security of residents and promptly respond to emergencies.
- Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, and hostel facilities.
- Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, repairs, food services, and other hostel requirements.
- Address residents’ concerns, complaints, and welfare needs in a timely and skilled manner.
- Monitor visitor access and ensure compliance with hostel security procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, registers, incident reports, and daily activity reports.
- Coordinate with parents/guardians, management, security personnel, and other staff when required.
- Provide appropriate support to residents during illness, emergencies, or other difficult situations.
- Report serious disciplinary, safety, or maintenance issues to management immediately.




- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Organize and supervise hostel activities, meetings, and awareness programmes when required.
- Promote cleanliness, mutual respect, responsible behavior , and a positive hostel environment.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in hostel, residential school, college, hotel, or facility administration is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain records.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
