JOB TITLE: HORTICULTURIST

Reporting To: Head of Administration / Principal / Facility Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for developing and maintaining the institution’s gardens, lawns, trees, and green spaces. Ensure healthy plant growth, campus beautification, and sustainable landscaping practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, develop, and maintain gardens, lawns, green zones, and indoor plants.
- Supervise planting, pruning, watering, fertilization, and pest control activities.
- Monitor plant health and ensure proper maintenance of all green areas.
- Manage gardening materials, tools, plants, fertilizers, and nursery resources.
- Supervise gardeners and allocate daily tasks effectively.
- Implement sustainable practices such as composting, rainwater harvesting, and organic gardening.
- Maintain campus cleanliness, greenery, pathways, and landscaping for events and functions.




- Ensure safe handling of gardening tools, fertilizers, and pesticides.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Botany, or Environmental Science.
- 5- 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in schools, colleges, or institutional campuses.
- Knowledge of local plants, seasonal requirements, and climatic conditions.
