Role Description The Horticulturist at The Whispering Woods Resort is a full-time, on-site role based in Thane, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the resort’s gardens, landscapes, and green spaces. Day-to-day tasks include caring for ornamental and native plants, managing garden beds and lawns, and ensuring that pathways, outdoor seating areas, and poolside greenery remain healthy and visually appealing. The role involves planning and implementing seasonal planting, monitoring soil health, overseeing irrigation systems,



and coordinating with the design and operations teams to support the resort’s Bali-inspired aesthetic and guest experience.

The Horticulturist will also identify plant health issues, recommend sustainable practices, and guide basic horticultural activities for any staff involved in garden upkeep.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong practical skills in Gardening and Landscape Maintenance to care for diverse resort grounds and garden features.
- Candidates should have knowledge of Botany to select appropriate plant species, understand plant health, and manage soil and nutrient requirements.
- Candidates should be experienced in Irrigation and Landscaping to design, maintain, and optimize watering systems and outdoor layouts.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Horticulture, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related field are preferred.
- Experience in resort, hotel, or large estate horticulture is an advantage, along with familiarity with tropical or Bali-inspired planting styles.
- Robust attention to detail, ability to perform physical outdoor work, and commitment to sustainable, eco-conscious gardening practices are beneficial.
