A Horticulture Assistant supports senior gardeners and staff with planting, watering, pruning, and maintaining healthy plants in nursery.

Key Responsibilities

- Plant Care: Water, weed, prune, and fertilize flowers, shrubs, and trees.

- Propagation: Start new plants from seeds, cuttings, or bulbs.

- Health Monitoring: Check plants for signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient shortages and report issues.

- Maintenance: Keep garden tools, equipment, and work areas clean and safe.

- Soil Prep: Help prepare soil, mix compost, and set up simple irrigation lines.

Qualifications & Skills

- Knowledge: Basic understanding of plant types and general care.

- Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift heavy loads (often 25 to 50 lbs).

- Education: High school diploma, with optional certifications or a degree in horticulture or plant science.

- Teamwork: Positive communication skills to work well with a crew
