SAP FICO Functional Lead – Vertex & GST

Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to serve as the SAP FICO Functional Lead, specializing in Vertex tax integration and Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance. This pivotal role demands a candidate with 8 to 10 years of total SAP expertise, including at least five years of dedicated functional experience within the Financial Accounting and Controlling modules. The successful applicant will drive the full lifecycle of SAP projects, from implementation and rollout to design, consulting, and ongoing support.

As a leader, you will oversee the configuration and delivery of robust FICO solutions while ensuring seamless integration with Materials Management (MM) and Sales and Distribution (SD) modules. This position requires a strategic thinker capable of managing technical and functional teams, assessing change requests, and providing precise impact analysis and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

- Lead the configuration, design, and delivery of comprehensive SAP FICO solutions with a specific focus on Vertex tax engine integration.

- Oversee the end-to-end execution of SAP projects, including implementation, rollout, and support phases, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

- Manage and mentor technical and functional consultants to guarantee high-quality delivery and project success.

- Analyze change requests thoroughly, providing detailed assessments that include resource estimation and impact analysis on existing systems.





- Ensure deep integration between Financial Accounting, Controlling, MM, and SD modules to maintain data integrity and process efficiency.

- Leverage expertise in Costing and Controlling Profitability Analysis (COPA) to optimize financial reporting and decision-making.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for client interactions, demonstrating strong communication skills and experience in handling support and upgrade initiatives.

- Apply specialized knowledge of GST regulations to ensure full compliance within the SAP environment.

Requirements

- Possess 8–10 years of overall SAP experience, with a minimum of 5 years in functional roles specifically within the SAP FICO module.

- Demonstrate mandatory proficiency in the Vertex tax engine and practical experience with GST implementation and compliance.

- Exhibit advanced technical knowledge in core FICO components, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Asset Accounting (AA), Bank Accounting (BA), Cash and Liquidity Management (CEA), Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders (IO), and Treasury (TR).

- Show robust command over Costing methodologies and COPA (Controlling Profitability Analysis).

- Display proven ability to integrate FICO with MM and SD modules effectively.

- Have a track record of managing cross-functional teams and overseeing project execution and delivery.

- Possess excellent client-facing skills, with prior exposure to support projects and system upgrades.
