We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Radiology Medical Coder to join our healthcare revenue cycle team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing radiology documentation and assigning accurate medical codes for diagnostic and interventional radiology services while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review radiology reports, physician documentation, and medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Code diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate with providers for clarification when necessary.
- Work closely with billing and revenue cycle teams to reduce denials and optimize reimbursement.
- Perform coding audits and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
- Stay current with coding updates, payer policies, and industry regulations.
- Maintain productivity and quality standards as defined by the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1-5 years of medical coding experience, with at least 1-3years in Radiology Coding.
- Strong knowledge of
- ICD-10-CM
- CPT Coding
- HCPCS Level II
- Radiology coding guidelines
- Experience with EHR/EMR systems and encoder software.
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience coding for hospital outpatient or physician practice settings.
- Understanding of radiology modifiers and payer-specific requirements.
- Knowledge of charge capture, coding audits, and denial management.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
