Role & responsibilities

- Conduct machine safety inspections and ensure timely follow-up and closure of identified actions
- Coordinate and conduct EHS inspections along with Safety Committee Members, Area In-charges, and relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate with user departments for competency assessment and certification of operators handling critical machinery and Material handling equipment
- Coordinate and facilitate Safety Committee Meetings, Weekly Safety Review Meetings, Incident Review Meetings, and other EHS-related forums
- Conduct Safety Induction, Awareness Programmes, and other EHS-related training for employees and contractors
- Ensure timely reporting and updating of incidents, HSE statistics, KPI performance, and other relevant EHS data in the EHS Portal
- Ensure effective horizontal deployment of Safety Initiatives, Safety Alerts, and learnings from other plants across the respective areas
- Coordinate and facilitate ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Internal Audits and support the Plant Management Representative in monitoring and ensuring timely closure of audit non-conformities
- Ensure the periodic review and upkeep of Area-level EHS Manuals, Hazard Identification & Risk Assessments (HIRA), Aspect & Impact Assessments (AIA), Operational Control Procedures (OCPs), and other relevant EHS documents
- Review Plant-level and Department-level EHS Objectives/KPIs and ensure effective implementation and monitoring of corresponding objective management programmes




- Implement and maintain the Emergency Response & Preparedness Plan; coordinate Mock Drills, identify gaps, and ensure timely closure of identified actions
- Participate in incident investigations, facilitate identification of root causes, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure horizontal deployment of relevant learnings across applicable areas
- Monitor Work Permits for high-risk activities, identify gaps in permit compliance, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Oversee Project Safety aspects and ensure contractors comply with applicable MRF EHS requirements, procedures, and standards.
- Coordinate and organize EHS awareness campaigns and events, including National Safety Day, World Workplace Day, Road Safety Week, and other relevant programmes.
- Promote a strong Safety Culture through proactive engagement with employees, contractors, and line management.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing workplace risks, improving legal and management-system compliance, and enhancing overall EHS performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience Bachelor of Engineering Full Time: (Mechanical / EEE ) with 4 - 7yrs experience

OR

Diploma in Engineering Full Time: (Mechanical / EEE) with 7 - 13yrs experience

Additional Qualification

Full-time Degree / Diploma in Industrial Safety, of not less than one-year duration, recognised in accordance with the Tamilnadu State Rules.

(or) M.Tech in Industrial Safety recognised in accordance with the Tamilnadu State Rules
