About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Head – Quality Control to lead the complete Quality Control & Quality Assurance function for our steel casting manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate should have robust hands-on experience in steel foundry quality, casting defects, metallurgical control, NDT, customer complaints, RCA/8D, and quality systems , with the ability to independently manage and improve the complete QC function.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead overall Quality Control & Quality Assurance from raw material receipt to final dispatch.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, inspection procedures, control plans and quality systems .
- Monitor quality across melting, molding, core making, pouring, fettling, heat treatment, shot blasting and final inspection .
- Ensure control of chemical composition, mechanical properties, metallurgical parameters and casting quality .
- Manage and monitor NDT activities – UT, MPI, DPT and other applicable methods .
- Analyze casting defects including shrinkage, porosity, cracks, inclusions, misruns, cold shuts and dimensional deviations and drive corrective actions.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA and 8D for internal and customer quality issues.
- Handle customer complaints and coordinate with Production, Methods, Melting and other functions for effective resolution.
- Monitor rejection, rework, customer PPM,



complaints and First Pass Yield and drive defect-reduction initiatives.
- Develop and review quality KPIs and periodic management reports .
- Ensure calibration and control of measuring, testing and inspection equipment .
- Lead internal quality audits and support customer and third-party audits.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer-specific quality requirements .
- Maintain complete traceability of heats, castings, inspection records and test results .
- Train, develop and guide QC inspectors, technicians and team members .
- Drive continuous improvement and quality improvement projects across the foundry.

Technical Expertise Required
- Strong knowledge of Steel Foundry Quality Control
- Casting defects and defect analysis / RCA
- NDT – UT, MPI, DPT
- Heat treatment and mechanical testing
- Spectrometer / chemical analysis
- Dimensional inspection and GD&T; fundamentals
- Metallurgical testing and microstructure
- FMEA, Control Plan, 8D, CAPA, SPC and MSA
- ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Customer-specific quality requirements and inspection standards

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in

Steel Foundries | Heavy Engineering | Automotive / Industrial Castings | Customer-Facing Quality will be preferred.
