The role is responsible for driving Suzlon’s wind repowering business through market intelligence, strategic planning, financial management, operations and execution, risk management, governance, future sustainability, and people management. It involves establishing Suzlon as a market leader in the Wind Repowering Segment, driving business growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening industry partnerships, and achieving successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

- Conduct in-depth market research and feasibility studies to evaluate potential opportunities and risks in wind repowering, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
- Analyze wind repowering market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and assess competitive dynamics to shape strategic planning and maintain Suzlon's leadership in the sector.
- Prepare and Execute National & Regional business development strategy by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive growth in repowering projects.
- Study, analyze, and monitor evolving repowering policies, regulations, and government initiatives related to repowering, assessing their impact on business operations and ensuring strategic alignment.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key industry players, policymakers, and business stakeholders to strengthen Suzlon's market positioning and foster collaboration.
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of leads and prospects, overseeing the sales cycle from initial engagement through contract negotiation and successful closure.
- Ensure end-to-end coordination with internal stakeholders for execution of repowering projects by respective Project Teams.
- Drive the Profit & Loss (P&L;) function for repowering,

Financial Management

- Drive the P&L; for the repowering business unit, ensuring revenue growth and cost optimization.
- Assess financial risks and opportunities in repowering projects.
- Optimize pricing models, revenue streams, and contract structures.





Operations and Execution

- Oversee the execution of repowering projects in coordination with the Project Teams.
- Ensure seamless coordination between internal stakeholders viz. Wind Resource Team, Development Team, Project Execution team and external stakeholders viz. clients, Govt. Functionaries etc.
- Track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.

Risk Management

- Identify and mitigate business risks associated with repowering projects.
- Develop contingency plans for market fluctuations and regulatory changes.
- Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and environmental standards.

Governance

- Establish best practices in business operations and stakeholder management.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all business dealings.
- Maintain transparency in reporting and decision-making.

Qualifications & Expereince

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Renewable Energy /Power / Energy.
- MBA or equivalent master’s degree preferred.
- 15 to 20 years of experience in renewable energy, business development, or strategic planning.
- Proven expertise in wind energy projects, business development, and contract management.
- Strong leadership experience in P&L; management and cross-functional coordination.
