About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Head – Purchase to lead the procurement function for our real estate and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, vendor management, cost optimization, negotiations, material planning, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services for ongoing and upcoming projects.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in real estate, construction, infrastructure, or building materials procurement, with a proven track record of managing large-scale purchases and vendor networks.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the complete Purchase & Procurement function for real estate and construction projects.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project budgets, timelines, and business objectives.
- Handle procurement of construction materials, finishing materials, MEP items, equipment, consumables, and other project requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate with, and develop reliable vendors, contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Build and maintain a robust vendor database and supplier network across key material categories.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial terms.
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality and project timelines.
- Obtain and compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and ensure commercial evaluation before finalization.
- Ensure purchase orders are issued accurately and in accordance with approved specifications and commercial terms.
- Coordinate closely with Projects, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Stores, and Management for procurement planning and execution.




- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials as per project schedules to avoid delays.
- Monitor material prices and market trends and advise management on procurement opportunities and price fluctuations.
- Develop annual and project-wise procurement budgets and monitor purchase expenditure against approved budgets.
- Establish and implement appropriate purchase policies, SOPs, approval processes, and vendor evaluation systems.
- Monitor supplier performance with respect to quality, price, delivery timelines, service, and compliance.
- Resolve vendor-related issues, disputes, shortages, quality concerns, and delayed deliveries.
- Ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, approvals, invoices, agreements, and vendor records.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of vendor payment-related issues.
- Maintain effective control over procurement costs, inventory levels, and material wastage.
- Support management in finalizing long-term rate contracts and strategic supplier arrangements.
- Conduct regular market surveys to identify alternate suppliers and competitive pricing.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
- Lead and mentor the purchase/procurement team and establish clear performance objectives.

Key Procurement Areas The candidate should preferably have experience in procurement of:

- Cement, steel, RMC and construction materials
- Bricks, blocks, sand, aggregates and allied materials
- Tiles, marble, granite and flooring materials
- Sanitaryware and plumbing materials
- Electrical materials and equipment
- HVAC and MEP-related materials
- Doors, windows, glass and aluminium
- Paints, waterproofing and finishing materials
- Hardware, fixtures and fittings




- Furniture and interior-related materials
- Construction equipment and machinery
- Site consumables and general project requirements
- AMC, manpower and other project-related services

Candidate Profile

- 15–20 years of overall experience in Purchase / Procurement.
- Strong preference for candidates from Real Estate, Construction, Infrastructure, Builders, Developers, or EPC companies.
- Graduate degree in any relevant discipline; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations or related field will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, market rates, and procurement practices.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, commercial and analytical skills.
- Experience in handling multiple projects and large procurement volumes.
- Strong understanding of purchase documentation, contracts, rate contracts, comparative statements, and commercial negotiations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/Purchase Management Systems.
- Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
- Ability to work closely with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity, accountability, commercial acumen, and decision-making ability.

Compensation Annual CTC: ₹18–22 Lakhs, depending on experience, expertise, and suitability for the role.

Preferred Candidate

Candidates currently working as Purchase Head, Procurement Head, GM/AGM Purchase, Senior Procurement Manager, or equivalent senior procurement positions in reputed real estate, construction, infrastructure, or developer organizations are encouraged to apply.
