Role Description This is a full-time, in office Head of Equity Research role based in Mumbai. The Head of Equity Research will lead the equity research function, overseeing the end-to-end research process, including idea generation, fundamental analysis, valuation, and investment recommendations on listed equities.

The role involves managing and mentoring a research team, setting research standards and frameworks, and ensuring that coverage is rigorous, timely, and aligned with the firm’s investment philosophy. The individual will review and approve research reports, thematic notes, and sector deep dives, and will present key findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, to clients or public-facing educational platforms. The Head of Equity Research will collaborate closely with advisory and compliance teams to maintain consistency, transparency, and regulatory adherence across all research outputs.

Qualifications





- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret financial statements, build valuation models, and synthesize complex data into clear investment insights.
- Deep expertise in equities, including sector coverage, company analysis, and monitoring of listed companies in Indian and global markets.
- Hands-on experience in investments and portfolio construction, with an understanding of risk management and long-term, research-driven investing.
- Advanced proficiency in equity research, including initiating coverage, writing detailed research reports, and maintaining ongoing coverage under SEBI-compliant standards.
- Solid finance foundation, preferably supported by qualifications such as CA, CFA, MBA in Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to both sophisticated and retail audiences.
- Experience leading and developing research teams, setting research processes, and maintaining high-quality standards in a regulated environment.
- Comfort with data tools and platforms (e.g., Excel, financial databases, modeling software) and openness to integrating technology and automation into research workflows.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and commitment to regulatory compliance and investor protection.
