About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader to build an AI-native engineering organisation at IndiaMART. You will shape technical direction and make AI an integral part of how teams design, build, test and operate software, while strengthening the platforms and production systems our business depends on.

This role combines current, personal AI practice with broad systems judgment and the ability to lead people and change. You will work across product engineering, data, infrastructure and security, build the AI infrastructure and developer tools teams need, and turn new capabilities into dependable engineering outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

- Build an AI-native engineering organisation. Shape how teams design, build, test and operate software using AI. Establish shared platforms, developer tools and reusable patterns that help teams turn ideas into reliable products faster, and measure success through adoption, quality and business impact.
- Build the AI foundations teams need. Establish model and data access, developer tools, evaluation, observability, permissions and cost controls. Help teams adopt effective workflows and improve them as model capabilities evolve.
- Lead technology and engineering. Set technical direction and priorities, own delivery, develop managers and senior engineers, and build a culture of sound engineering judgment and accountability.
- Build capabilities teams want to use. Create practical, reusable paths for APIs, frontends, data, testing, deployment and operations. Treat shared services as internal products, with clear interfaces, support and migration plans.
- Improve the existing estate. Connect decisions across applications, databases, messaging, cloud and security. Simplify or retire systems in stages, informed by reliability,



customer outcomes and operating cost.
- Make safe delivery routine. Embed security, testing, observability and recovery into everyday work. Reduce repeated manual intervention and approvals through effective controls and clear accountability.

What you should bring:

- Bring practical experience building with AI and strong engineering judgment. You understand how models, agents, data and conventional software fit together, can evaluate their limitations, and can guide teams from promising prototypes to dependable production systems.
- Personal technical depth: consequential software or platforms you helped build, with decisions, mistakes and results you can explain in detail.
- Technical breadth: judgment across applications and frontends, APIs, data, infrastructure, reliability, security and AI. You understand how choices interact and when to involve specialists.
- Delivery ownership: a record of delivering engineering outcomes across teams, resolving obstacles and staying accountable through adoption, maintenance and later consequences.
- People leadership: experience leading through managers, developing technical leaders and owning organisation outcomes, with the judgment to integrate specialist teams and operate at substantial scale.
- Transparent communication and influence: explain choices to technical, product and business audiences, work through disagreement and secure adoption across reporting lines.

Relevant experience: Experience building shared platforms, scaling software products or improving complex production systems is particularly relevant. We welcome technical founders, early engineering leaders and operators from established companies who bring sustained ownership and measurable engineering impact.
