Job Role : Head / GM - Service (HHP)

Role Description

The Head / GM – Service (HHP) will lead the High Horsepower (HHP) service function, overseeing service operations, customer support, and technical performance for large genset installations. This full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad includes managing service teams, planning preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring timely resolution of customer issues. The role involves setting service standards, monitoring field performance, coordinating with sales and projects teams, and driving continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and develop the service team, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives. Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of service personnel.
- Develop and execute service strategies to improve service delivery, customer satisfaction, and overall operational efficiency. Create long-term service roadmaps.
- Foster solid relationships with key customers, ensuring their needs are met effectively and efficiently. Handle high-value and complex customer queries or complaints.
- Oversee service operations including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs of diesel generators. Ensure smooth coordination between the service team and other departments.
- Manage service budgets, monitor costs,



and ensure service operations are cost-efficient. Ensure the team meets profitability and efficiency goals without compromising quality.
- Provide technical guidance to the service team for complex issues and emergency repairs. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Continuously evaluate service processes to improve response times, quality of service, and customer satisfaction. Implement industry best practices.
- Ensure all service activities comply with safety regulations and best practices. Conduct safety training and audits to minimize workplace accidents.
- Prepare and deliver service reports to senior management. Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and part replacements.

Education Qualifications :

- Diploma / B.E - Electrical/ Mechanical/Automobile Engineering. A Master's degree in Engineering or related field will be an advantage.

Experience and skills:

- 18 – 20 years of experience in service management, preferably in the diesel generator manufacturing or related heavy machinery industry.
- Proven track record of leading large service teams and managing end-to-end service operations, preferably in a Country Head or similar senior leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of Diesel Generators, their technical aspects, and maintenance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in managing customer service, troubleshooting, and technical support.
- Experience in Service operations management, customer support, and escalation handling, with a focus on service quality and turnaround time.
- Candidate should possess abilities in planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for field service activities, including preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ahmedabad, with readiness to travel to customer locations as required.
