Our Client: Our client is a leading UPI-led digital payments platform at the heart of Indias rapidly evolving digital payments ecosystem. The organization is scaling its technology and engineering capabilities to drive next-generation payment experiences, platform resilience, innovation and financial inclusion at national scale.

Education: Bachelors in Engineering

Experience: 18-22 years; of which ideally 8–10+ years in senior Technology/Engineering leadership

About the Role: We are looking for a Head / Deputy CTO to lead technology vision, architecture, security and engineering for our payments platform. The role demands a hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in building and scaling secure, high-availability digital platforms.

The ideal candidate should combine strategic leadership with solid technical depth, while influencing architects, engineers, business leaders, regulators and CXOs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Define technology strategy, architecture and modernization roadmap while driving engineering excellence, AI, automation and cloud adoption.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, system design, scalability, security, reliability and critical production issues.
- Lead large engineering teams and end-to-end delivery, partnering with Product, Business, Risk, Operations and Compliance.
- Build highly scalable, secure and resilient payment platforms supporting high transaction volumes, low latency and high availability.
- Drive microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture,



cloud, Kubernetes, DevOps/DevSecOps and SRE adoption.
- Own platform reliability, DR, observability, security, fraud prevention, business continuity and regulatory compliance.
- Lead integrations with banks, card networks and financial partners.
- Challenge architectural decisions, mentor senior engineering leaders and make key technology, platform and modernization decisions.
- Ensure compliance with RBI, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CERT-In, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

Technical Competencies & Leadership

- Large-scale digital payment systems and high-volume transaction processing.
- Microservices, API architecture, Java/Spring Boot, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes.
- DevOps/DevSecOps, SRE, platform engineering, secure architecture and observability.
- AI/ML, automation, real-time analytics, performance engineering and scalability.
- Strong ability to lead architecture/design reviews, evaluate trade-offs, resolve critical production issues and challenge technical decisions.
- Ability to mentor senior engineers/architects and drive technology-stack, platform and modernization decisions.
