Role Description The Hadoop Administrator role is a contract, on-site position based in Gurgaon.

The Hadoop

Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Hadoop clusters and related big data components, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include monitoring system health and capacity, managing data ingestion and workflows, troubleshooting issues, applying patches and upgrades, and performing backup and recovery operations. The role also involves collaborating with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to optimize cluster usage, implement best practices, and support new data initiatives. Documentation of configurations, procedures,



and operational runbooks is expected to maintain clarity and consistency in the environment.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Hadoop ecosystem administration (e.g., HDFS, YARN, MapReduce), including cluster configuration and management.
- Candidates should possess skills in related big data tools and services such as Hive, HBase, Spark, and Kafka for supporting data processing and analytics.
- Candidates should possess skills in Linux/Unix system administration, shell scripting, and basic networking concepts to manage and troubleshoot the infrastructure.
- Candidates should possess skills in performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and alerting using tools such as Ambari, Cloudera Manager, or similar platforms.
- Candidates should possess skills in security and compliance for Hadoop environments, including user access management, encryption, and integration with authentication systems.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Beneficial experience includes prior work with cloud-based big data platforms, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively on-site in Gurgaon, are highly valued.
