Role Description The Grassroots Intern role is an on-site internship based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Interns support field-level implementation of projects by assisting with community outreach, data collection, stakeholder engagement, and documentation of on-ground activities. Daily tasks may include conducting surveys or interviews, coordinating with local partners and beneficiaries, and preparing concise reports or presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

The role also involves contributing to basic research, maintaining project records,



and participating in team discussions to share field insights that can inform policy analysis and program design. Interns are expected to follow ethical guidelines, respect community contexts, and collaborate closely with colleagues and supervisors.

Qualifications

- Ability to conduct fieldwork, including community outreach, surveys, and interviews, with sensitivity and professionalism.

- Robust research, documentation, and report-writing skills, including basic data organization and analysis.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including community members and partner organizations.

- Capacity to work on-site in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, manage time well, and adapt to dynamic project needs.

- Demonstrated interest in public policy, governance, education, or social impact; prior internship or volunteer experience in these areas is an advantage.

- Comfort with basic digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software); familiarity with data collection apps is a plus.

- Currently pursuing or having recently completed studies in social sciences, public policy, education, development studies, or related fields is preferred.
