Profile: Sr. GIS Analyst

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience in the field of application development, solution design, integration, technology consulting

Education: Degree in computer science, geoscience, remote sensing, surveying, engineering or related field.

Preferred qualifications:

1. Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
2. Proficiency with front end design languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and various mapping languages.
3. Experience with mapping tools such as ArcMap, QGIS or Carto
4. Attention to detail and valuable problem-solving skills.
5. Analytical mindset.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication

Roles & responsibilities:

1. Analyzing spatial data through the use of mapping software.
2. Performs complex data analysis using ArcGIS and related extensions/add-ons, relational databases, and other computer software; understands and can apply the capabilities of GIS, databases, and other computer programs to solve complex spatial and relational problems.
3.



Designs and implements GIS and relational databases in various formats.
4. Designs and implements custom applications both for the desktop and the internet.
5. Discovering patterns and trends through spatial mapping of data.
6. Designing digital maps with geographic data and other data sources.
7. Creating "shapefiles" / geo-database to merge topographical data with external data by layering external data over a topographical map.
8. Producing maps showing the spatial distribution of various kinds of data, including crime statistics and hospital locations.
9. Developing mapping applications and tools.
10. Converting physical maps into a digital form for computer usage.
11. Performing data munging and cleaning to convert data into its desired form.
12. Produce reports on geographic data utilizing data visualizations.
13. Managing a digital library of geographic maps in various file types.
14. Ensure proposed solution design follows the functional requirement with special reference to the data analyzed.
