Role Description This is a contract General Insurance Advisor role based in Kolkata, structured as a hybrid position that combines on-site work with some work-from-home flexibility.

The General Insurance

Advisor will engage with prospective and existing customers to understand their protection needs, explain suitable general insurance products, and support them through the policy selection and purchase process. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing product information across segments (such as motor, health, and other general insurance lines), conducting needs-based consultations, and offering clear guidance on coverage, premiums, and terms.



The role involves maintaining accurate customer records, coordinating with internal teams for policy issuance and service requests, and ensuring timely follow-up on leads and renewals. The Advisor will be expected to uphold regulatory and company standards, deliver high-quality customer service, and contribute to business growth through responsible advising and relationship-building.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid knowledge or aptitude in Insurance, with an understanding of general insurance products and regulatory guidelines.
- Candidates should possess skills in Finance, including basic financial literacy and the ability to explain premiums, benefits, and value propositions clearly.
- Candidates should possess Consulting skills, such as needs analysis, solution-oriented advising, and ethical recommendation of suitable products.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, including empathy, responsiveness, and the ability to handle queries and concerns professionally.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex information in a simple, customer-friendly manner.
- Relevant experience in insurance sales, financial services, or advisory roles is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Kolkata, manage time independently, and use digital tools and CRM systems efficiently.
- Minimum educational qualification of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; relevant certifications in insurance or finance are an advantage.
