About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Game Designer with expertise in board game reasoning to join our client's team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, allowing candidates to contribute to cutting-edge AI development projects from their preferred location. The primary focus of this role is to assist in training and evaluating next-generation artificial intelligence models by leveraging deep knowledge of strategic reasoning, game mechanics, and complex rule systems.

You will be instrumental in creating, reviewing, and refining datasets that enhance AI understanding and decision-making capabilities, particularly within the context of board and strategy games.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fields related to game design, mathematics, cognitive science, or related analytical disciplines. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, cognitive science, game design, philosophy, economics, or a similar field is required.



Candidates should have a minimum of two years of professional or semi-professional experience in board game design, playtesting, or involvement in tabletop game communities.

A comprehensive understanding of logic, probabilistic reasoning, game mechanics, and complex rule systems is essential. Familiarity with game theory, behavioral economics, decision science, or formal logic will be considered advantageous. Excellent written communication skills are necessary for documenting evaluation results, creating guidelines, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

- Create and review game-based reasoning tasks designed to evaluate AI systems, ensuring they accurately reflect strategic complexity and decision-making processes.
- Analyze board-game scenarios, develop strategic decision trees, and construct rule-based systems to generate high-quality datasets for AI training and evaluation.
- Assess AI-generated responses for correctness, logical consistency, and reasoning quality, providing detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement.
- Develop prompts, rubrics, and evaluation guidelines tailored to board game and strategy-focused tasks to standardize assessments across projects.
- Identify logical errors, rule violations, and flawed reasoning in AI outputs, contributing to the creation of benchmarks and validation tools.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance dataset quality and refine evaluation methodologies, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in game design, AI training techniques, and reasoning methodologies to inform dataset development and evaluation processes.
