About The Role We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Game Designer specializing in board game reasoning and strategy for a remote, full-time position. This role involves working closely with AI development teams to enhance the reasoning and decision-making capabilities of next-generation artificial intelligence models.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in board game mechanics, strategic analysis, and complex rule systems, enabling them to create and evaluate datasets that challenge and improve AI performance. You will be instrumental in designing reasoning tasks, analyzing game scenarios, and developing evaluation frameworks that ensure AI models can understand and reason about intricate game strategies effectively.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, cognitive science, game design, philosophy, economics,



or a related analytical discipline. A minimum of two years' experience in board game design, playtesting, or involvement in tabletop game communities is essential.

Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of logic, probabilistic reasoning, game mechanics, and complex rule systems. Additional expertise in game theory, behavioral economics, decision science, or formal logic will be highly advantageous. Excellent written communication skills are required to document evaluation results, create guidelines, and contribute to dataset development.

Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

- Create and review game-based reasoning tasks designed to evaluate AI systems, ensuring they accurately reflect complex strategic scenarios.
- Analyze board game scenarios, strategic decision trees, and rule-based systems to develop high-quality datasets for AI training and evaluation.
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for correctness, consistency, and reasoning quality, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
- Develop prompts, rubrics,



and evaluation guidelines tailored to board game and strategy-focused tasks, supporting robust benchmarking processes.
- Identify logical errors, rule violations, and flawed reasoning in AI outputs, contributing to the creation of benchmarks and standard evaluation metrics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to refine dataset quality, improve evaluation methodologies, and enhance AI reasoning capabilities.
