About the Role

We are building the software stack that powers our drone systems from the ground up.

We are looking for a Lead-level Individual Contributor who can independently own the complete software lifecycle — from understanding requirements and defining the architecture to development, testing, deployment, and scaling.

This is a hands-on technical ownership role, not a people-management position. You will be the primary software owner and will establish the architecture, technology stack, SDLC, engineering standards, and technical roadmap with minimal technical guidance.

You will work closely with hardware, embedded, controls, and systems teams to build reliable, real-time software for our drone platform.

What You'll Do

Software Architecture & System Design

- Design and own the end-to-end software architecture for a real-time, distributed platform.
- Translate system requirements into scalable software architecture, technical specifications, APIs, and system interfaces.
- Independently evaluate and select the appropriate technology stack, architectural patterns,



databases, communication protocols, and infrastructure.
- Identify scalability, performance, reliability, security, and integration requirements.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation and technical design decisions.

Establish the SDLC & Engineering Practices

- Set up the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from scratch — requirements, design, development, code review, testing, release, deployment, and maintenance.
- Establish coding, documentation, version control, testing, branching, and release standards.
- Set up development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Establish CI/CD, monitoring, logging, observability, and incident-management practices.
- Build engineering foundations that can support a growing software team.

Build the Product

- Build and ship the frontend and backend end to end for real-time data and command interfaces.
- Design and develop APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Build systems capable of handling real-time and high-frequency data.
- Design scalable databases and data architecture.
- Ensure appropriate data protection and security practices, including requirements under the DPDP Act.

Own Technical Execution

- Own the software roadmap from architecture through production.
- Make and document technical decisions independently, including trade-offs.




- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and technical debt and drive their resolution.
- Own production reliability, performance, and root-cause resolution.
- Remain hands-on while providing technical direction for future software development.

Experience & Background

- Minimum 3 years of experience in owning software architecture and system design end to end.
- Bachelors degree in computer Science or relevant field
- Good to have: C++ proficiency, preferably in real-time, systems, or performance-critical application. AWS/cloud architecture.
- Proven experience owning software architecture and system design end to end.
- Experience building software products/systems from zero to one and taking them to production.
- Strong full-stack development experience across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding and practical experience across the complete SDLC.
- Experience with database architecture, including high-frequency or time-series data.
- Experience designing and integrating systems through APIs and standard communication protocols.
- Ability to independently evaluate and select technologies and architecture based on the problem.
- Experience establishing engineering processes or standards where none previously existed.
