Job Summary

As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll work on a multi-tenant payment gateway that processes card, bank transfer, USSD, and account-debit payments for merchants across countries. The platform is built with a React frontend, .NET serverless backend, and AWS infrastructure.

You’ll be part of a small engineering team where work moves quickly from development to production. You’ll take well-specified Jira user stories from database migration and API contracts through backend development, tested frontend screens, and production delivery.

This is a build role on a live system, where real merchants are transacting while the platform continues to evolve.

How your day would look like at SandCup

- Build and maintain production features across React and .NET.
- Take features from database changes and API contracts through implementation, testing, and release.
- Build responsive and accessible interfaces using React, TypeScript, and the frontend stack.
- Develop backend APIs and services using C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core, Minimal APIs, and Entity Framework Core.
- Work with MySQL for schema design, indexing, and production migrations.
- Build and integrate REST APIs using OpenAPI as the contract source of truth.
- Work with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, Cognito, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, SQS, and CloudWatch.
- Work with AWS CDK and CI/CD through CodePipeline and CodeBuild.




- Write tests as part of development and work with CI quality gates.
- Support feature flags, canary releases, structured logging, accessibility checks, and production monitoring.
- Debug production issues and help maintain the reliability of a live payment platform.
- Use Claude Code as part of the development workflow while reviewing generated code carefully.

You’ll be a great fit if

- You have 4+ years of experience building production web applications across frontend and backend.
- You have experience in payments or fintech, including payment processor integrations, reconciliation, settlement, or PCI-adjacent work.
- You have strong TypeScript and React skills and understand component behaviour, re-renders, and state placement.
- You have solid C# / .NET experience or strong experience in a comparable typed backend language such as Java, Kotlin, or Go with the ability to pick up .NET quickly.
- You have practical experience with relational databases, including schema design, indexing, and production migrations.
- You have experience designing REST APIs, ideally using OpenAPI.
- You have working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud platform.
- You write tests as part of your development workflow and are comfortable working with CI gates.

You'll stand out with

- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, particularly tenant isolation.
- Experience working through legacy migrations where old and new systems ran side by side.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially AWS CDK.

- Small team, transparent work queues. You’ll have an ordered sequence of work and visibility into what comes next.
- Contracts before implementation. API contracts are published first so frontend and backend can move in parallel.
- Feature flags and canary releases. New flows are released to a small share of traffic first and can be rolled back quickly.
- Tests are gates, not suggestions. Cross-tenant data leakage, accessibility issues, and OpenAPI drift can fail the build.
- Reversible decisions move fast. Decisions that cannot easily be undone are planned more deliberately.
- AI-assisted development is part of the workflow. Claude Code is used as a development tool, with the same level of review expected for AI-generated code as for your own.
