Working hours: 12:30 PM9:30 PM IST

Fixed annual salary: 3,60,000 - 8,00,000, depending on skills and demonstrated capability

Experience: Strong practical experience with live projects; no fixed minimum number of years.

About the role

You will own development across the frontend, backend, databases, integrations, deployment and ongoing maintenance.

Working closely with the founding team, marketing and operations, you will turn business requirements into reliable, secure and easy-to-use features. A key focus will be developing a learner portal where students can access lessons, complete assessments, track progress and download certificates.

We value the ability to independently build, launch and maintain working applications. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their personal contribution to live projects.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain and improve our React-based website, including programme pages, landing pages, forms and learner journeys.
- Review the existing codebase, fix bugs and improve website performance, mobile responsiveness, accessibility and technical SEO.
- Build secure learner registration, login, password recovery and dashboards.
- Develop course access, lesson delivery, assessments and progress tracking within the website.
- Implement enrolment-based access controls and reliable storage of learner progress and assessment results.
- Build an automated certificate system with completion eligibility checks, downloadable PDFs, unique certificate IDs and verification pages.
- Provide authorized staff with tools to manage courses, lessons, learners, assessments and certificate issuance, correction or revocation.




- Develop application and enrolment workflows for FNA-funded courses.
- Integrate CRM platforms, payment gateways, email services, video hosting and other business tools as required.
- Automate lead capture, onboarding, notifications and data synchronization, with safeguards against duplicate records and failed processes.
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, databases, authentication and role-based permissions.
- Manage hosting, deployments, domain configuration, SSL, backups and application monitoring.
- Test critical workflows, troubleshoot production issues and document the platforms setup and operation.
- Assess build-versus-buy options and recommend practical solutions based on cost, reliability and maintenance needs.

Required skills and experience

- Strong hands-on experience with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
- Proven backend development skills using Node.js or another suitable backend technology.
- Experience designing APIs and working with relational or non-relational databases.
- Ability to develop complete applications, from user interfaces and server-side logic through to deployment.
- Experience implementing authentication, role-based access and secure handling of user information.
- Practical experience with third-party APIs, webhooks and integrations.
- Working knowledge of Git, hosting environments, deployment workflows and debugging.
- Understanding of application security, data validation,



performance optimisation and backup recovery.
- Ability to understand an existing codebase and make maintainable improvements.
- Strong ownership, prioritization, problem-solving and communication skills.
- A portfolio or examples of completed projects demonstrating end-to-end development capability.

Good to have

- Experience building EdTech platforms, learner portals or learning management systems.
- Experience with lesson delivery, quizzes, assessments and course completion tracking.
- Experience generating downloadable certificates, PDFs or verification pages.
- Exposure to CRM integrations, payment workflows and automation tools.
- Experience supporting marketing analytics and conversion tracking.
- Experience independently managing a products technical delivery in a startup environment.

Initial priorities

- Review the current website, backend, integrations and hosting setup.
- Resolve priority bugs and broken automations.
- Agree a phased development plan for the learner portal and FNA-funded course launch.
- Build the essential course access, lesson, assessment and progress tracking features.
- Launch a reliable certificate download and verification workflow.
- Establish explicit documentation and dependable deployment, backup and maintenance processes.
