We are seeking a competent developer to work directly with the founder to take our Saas platform to commercial readiness, and lead subsequent feature development. The successful candidate will be expected to self-manage, take full responsibility for their deliverables, and progress their work independently.
Full-time • Initial 2-month contract with potential for long-term extension. Requires consistent daily overlap with New Zealand business hours
Role & responsibilities
- Stabilise and harden the platform to commercial-grade reliability
- Optimise the mobile application for performance and reduced app size a rapid, responsive, lightweight experience is a priority
- Design and deliver new features, including PDF generation, AI-assisted editing tools, billing, and onboarding
- Manage App Store and Google Play submissions
- Lead development of the flagship feature an AI assistant that performs semantic search across inspection reports (RAG / vector search) to answer user queries
- Support the ongoing scaling and evolution of the platform,
and advise on longer-term mobile technology direction
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript / TypeScript and React
- Demonstrable experience with React Native (Expo), with proven ability in performance optimisation and app-size reduction this is a core requirement
- Experience with Next.js and full-stack web development
- Experience with databases, backend, and API integration (Supabase, PostgreSQL, or equivalent)
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables
- Clear written communication and a methodical, root-cause approach to problem-solving
Advantageous: Flutter / Dart experience (valued for future mobile platform direction), AI / LLM integration, vector search / RAG / embeddings, Expo App Store and Play Store submission experience, exposure to construction or engineering technology.
