We are looking for a Freelance AI Children's Book Illustrator to create high-quality AI-generated illustrations for children's coloring books and picture books.

You will be provided with the book concept, theme, instructions, and/or manuscript. Your responsibility will be to generate the illustrations using AI, maintain consistent characters and visual style throughout the book, make necessary corrections, and deliver print-ready, high-quality illustrations.

We are looking for someone who understands that creating a children's book is more than simply generating individual AI images. Character consistency, composition, clean artwork, age-appropriate visuals, and consistency across an entire book are extremely important.

Responsibilities

- Create AI-generated illustrations for children's coloring books and picture books.
- Create consistent characters across multiple pages and scenes.
- Follow detailed creative instructions and visual references.
- Generate illustrations in the required dimensions and aspect ratio.
- Create clean, qualified coloring-book artwork suitable for children.
- For coloring books, create bold, clean black-and-white line art with appropriate detail for the target age group.
- Ensure coloring pages do not contain unwanted shading, gray areas, filled black areas, artifacts, distorted objects, or unnecessary background details when instructed.
- Make corrections and regenerate images when necessary.
- Maintain consistent character appearance, clothing, proportions, facial features, and overall art style throughout a book.
- Prepare illustrations suitable for Amazon KDP publishing.




- Deliver organized, high-resolution final files.
- Follow naming, formatting, and file-delivery instructions accurately.

Requirements
- Previous experience creating AI-generated children's book illustrations is required.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in AI illustration, digital illustration, children's book illustration, or a closely related field.
- You must be very good in English, as you will need to understand detailed creative instructions and communicate clearly.
- You must have access to paid AI image-generation tools capable of producing high-quality, watermark-free images.
- You must own a computer or laptop suitable for AI image generation and image editing.
- You must have a reliable internet connection.
- Strong understanding of children's illustration and visual storytelling.
- Ability to maintain consistent AI characters across multiple illustrations.
- Ability to follow a specific visual style and reproduce it consistently.
- Ability to create clean, professional coloring-book line art.
- Basic image editing skills are required.
- Amazon KDP experience is preferred.
- Experience creating complete children's books from beginning to end is highly preferred.





IMPORTANT — Portfolio Requirement

You must provide at least ONE complete children's book that you have created as a sample.

We are specifically looking for people who have experience creating an entire book, not only individual AI-generated images.

- Character consistency
- Consistent art style
- Page-to-page quality
- Good composition
- Children's book-appropriate artwork
- Ability to follow a theme throughout an entire book
- Coloring-book line-art quality, if applicable

Please also provide 3–5 additional AI-generated illustration samples.
