Support financial planning and analysis for the organization, with a solid focus on manufacturing cost tracking, cost optimization and the budgeting/forecasting cycle. The role holder will work closely with the plant and corporate teams to build visibility into cost drivers, support data-led decision-making, and help management track performance against budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Cost Tracking & Analysis
- Track and analyze manufacturing costs (material, labour, overheads and conversion costs)
- Investigate significant cost variances with Plant Finance and Production teams and report root causes to management.
- Maintain and update cost models/trackers to reflect changes in input prices, product mix and process changes.
Forecasting & Budgeting
- Support preparation of the annual operating budget, including revenue, manufacturing cost and overhead assumptions.
- Prepare periodic forecasts (monthly/quarterly) and update full-year projections based on latest business trends.
- Conduct budget vs. actual analysis and prepare variance commentary for management review.
- Support scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for key business decisions, including new product launches and capacity expansion.
- Assist in preparation of MIS reports, board decks and management review presentations related to financial performance.
Cost Saving Opportunities
- Identify cost saving and efficiency opportunities across raw materials,
packing materials, conversion costs and overheads.
- Work with Procurement, Production and Engineering teams to evaluate the financial impact of proposed cost-saving initiatives.
- Track and report savings realized against identified cost reduction initiatives.
- Benchmark costs across plants/products to highlight areas of inefficiency or improvement potential.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) / M.Com or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in FP&A;, cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, FMCG or CDMO/CMO setup is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with a good understanding of manufacturing cost structures.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (financial modelling, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) for cost and financial data extraction and analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets accurately.
- Good communication skills to present financial analysis and recommendations to cross-functional and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet reporting timelines.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing cost optimization opportunities.
