Key Roles &
- Responsibilities1.
Floor
Management &
- Work Allocation
- Job Card Execution: Assign job cards to technicians based on technical skill set, difficulty of repair, and urgency.
- Bay Utilization: Maximize bay productivity and throughput time, preventing idle mechanics or bottlenecked repair lines.
- Work Progress Tracking: Monitor real-time status of scheduled maintenance, running repairs, overhauls, and bodywork to hit Turnaround Time (TAT) targets.

Technical
Supervision &
- Quality Assurance
- Troubleshooting: Guide mechanics in diagnosing complex engine problems (e.g., fuel injection systems, BS6 exhaust aftertreatment/DEF systems, air brake systems, transmissions, and axles).
- Quality Audits: Perform pre-delivery quality checks and arrange road tests to ensure the vehicle is repaired right the first time (First-Time Right - FTR).
- SOP &
- Technical Bulletins:
Ensure all mechanics strictly follow Ashok Leyland’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and latest OEM technical bulletins.

Spare
Parts &
- Special Tool Management
- Parts Indenting: Requisition required spare parts and consumables from the workshop stores to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Special Tool Maintenance: Oversee the proper use, calibration, and storage of heavy-duty diagnostic toolkits (e.g., Ley诊断 / LeyDiagnostic systems, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools).
4. Team Leadership &
- Safety Compliance
- Supervision: Lead and guide technicians, mechanics, trainees, and helpers working in the assigned bays.
- EHS &
- Housekeeping:
Enforce 5S floor cleanlines,
ensure proper disposal of oil/waste, and mandate personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety shoes and glasses.
- Skill Development: Conduct on-the-job training and tool-box talks for mechanics to upgrade technical capabilities.
5. Customer &
- Service Advisor Coordination
- Coordination: Keep Service Advisors informed about work status, unexpected delays, or additional required repairs for customer approval.
- Warranty &
- Rejections:
Ensure parts replaced under warranty are tagged and preserved according to OEM guidelines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Turnaround Time (TAT): Meeting scheduled delivery times.
- First-Time Right (FTR): Minimizing repeat vehicle complaints/rework.
- Bay Productivity: Hours billed vs. hours available per bay.
- Safety & 5S Score: Zero floor accidents and adherence to workshop standards.
Key Skills &
- Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Automotive/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–6 years in commercial vehicle (CV) dealership workshops or fleet management.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of diesel engines, BS6 emissions architecture, hydraulics, electrical wiring diagrams, and diagnostic software.
- Soft Skills: Team management, problem-solving, time management, and basic computer/ERP literacy.
Pay: ₹15,078.24 - ₹27,525.67 per month
