To ensure reliable operation of plant machinery through inspection, preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, repair, installation and proper maintenance documentation.Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, maintain and repair centrifugal pumps, slurry pumps, dosing pumps and associated equipment.

- Check pump alignment, bearings, couplings, seals, gland packing, lubrication, vibration, pressure and leakage.

- Maintain belt conveyors, including belts, pulleys, idlers, bearings, gearboxes, scrapers, chutes and take-up arrangements.

- Carry out belt tracking, tensioning, joint inspection and replacement of damaged components.

- Maintain centrifuges, including bowl components, nozzles, disc stacks, bearings, gearboxes, seals and feed systems.

- Assist in centrifuge dismantling, cleaning, inspection, assembly, alignment and trial runs according to OEM procedures.

- Maintain filter presses, including hydraulic systems, plates, filter cloths, feed piping, valves and cake-discharge mechanisms.

- Carry out fabrication, fit-up, installation and repair of MS, SS, HDPE and utility piping systems.

- Inspect pipes, flanges, gaskets, supports, valves, expansion joints and flexible connections for leakage or damage.

- Maintain gearboxes, blowers, agitators, vibro screens, compressors and other rotating equipment.

- Execute scheduled daily, weekly, monthly and shutdown preventive-maintenance jobs.

- Attend mechanical breakdowns promptly, identify the cause and safely restore equipment.

- Perform bearing, mechanical seal, coupling, belt, chain, sprocket and gearbox replacement.





- Support equipment installation, foundation checking, alignment, commissioning and modification work.

- Maintain positive housekeeping and proper storage of tools, tackles and removed parts.

- Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, Projects and HSE teams.

Safety Responsibilities

- Strictly follow Permit-to-Work and Lockout/Tagout procedures.

- Isolate electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, pressure and process energy before starting work.

- Use appropriate PPE and the correct tools, lifting tackles and testing equipment.

- Confirm equipment is depressurized, drained and cleaned before dismantling.

- Use only inspected and certified chain blocks, slings and lifting accessories.

- Never remove guards, bypass interlocks or operate machinery without authorization.

- Reinstall all guards and safety devices before equipment trial and handover.

- Immediately report unsafe conditions, abnormal vibration, leakage, noise or overheating.

Documentation and Reporting

- Complete PM checklists, equipment inspection sheets and daily maintenance reports.

- Record breakdown details, root cause, corrective action, parts replaced and downtime.

- Record vibration, temperature,



lubrication and alignment observations.

- Update equipment history and communicate pending jobs during shift handover.

- Report required spares, consumables, tools and recurring equipment problems.

- Return removed serviceable parts and unused materials to the designated location.

Qualification and Experience

- ITI Fitter, Millwright or Mechanic trade from a recognized institute.

- Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial plant.

- Experience in mineral-processing, chemical, cement or continuous-process plants is preferred.

Required Technical Skills

- Pumps, conveyors, centrifuges, filter presses and piping systems.

- Bearing, seal, coupling, gearbox and lubrication maintenance.

- Equipment dismantling, inspection, assembly and alignment.

- Use of vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge and basic vibration instruments.

- Reading mechanical drawings, piping layouts and equipment manuals.

- Basic fabrication, welding coordination, rigging and lifting knowledge.

- Preventive-maintenance schedule compliance.

- Breakdown response and restoration time.

- Reduction in repetitive mechanical failures.

- Equipment availability and reliability.

- Quality of maintenance, alignment and trial-run work.
