Summary:

Firmware verification Engineer who is responsible for verifying Bootcode/firmware in Simulation/Emulation environments, proficient in Linux/Unix/Shell Scripting, exposure to System Verilog and ability debug Firmware!

Job Duties:

- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features to be verified
- Perform simulations, analyse results, and debug issues related to Firmware/Boot o Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve design defects and correct any test issues
- Estimate the time required to write the new feature tests and any required changes to the test environment
- Build the directed and random verification tests
- Analyse and enhance legacy test plans to accommodate new Design for Debug feature developments
- First level triaging of Firmware/Debugging of issues arising in Simulation/Emulation testing, Developing test plans and execute test cases to enhance Firmware test coverage.
- Track test results, create benchmarks, perform profiling and improve quality of the firmware by covering all the corner cases
- Attend weekly meetings, status communication, presentations.
- 5+ years of experience in Firmware/Bootrom Validation in Simulation/Emulation environments




- Debugging experience is a must particularly in HW/SW co-debug environments
- Ability to trace code across multiple domains and root cause using waveforms and other tracing tools
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix environment and shell scripting
- Understanding of Verilog, VHDL design
- Understanding of System Verilog, DPI, UVM verification environments is a plus
- Programming skills - Python, Tcl, Ruby
- Experience in C/C++ programming - Should be able to debug firmware
- Knowledge of computer hardware architecture (Graphic card, CPU/APU, memory, bus logic, and display technologies)
- Test Automation - Valuable knowledge in
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
