Role & responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a team of 4 to 5 firmware engineers, providing technical direction,support, and opportunities for growth.

- Define firmware architecture, coding practices, design standards, testing approaches,and modular interfaces.

- Design, develop, test, debug, and deploy firmware and embedded system software,primarily using C.

- Develop clear and reliable APIs to enable effective integration with higher-level software and other product subsystems.

- Convert product and system requirements into well-defined firmware requirements, design documents, state machines, and implementation plans.

- Build firmware that delivers deterministic behaviour, efficient state-machine design, and dependable real-time performance.

- Work closely with the hardware team on schematics, component selection, processor and peripheral evaluation, communication interfaces, board bring-up, and design reviews.

- Diagnose and resolve firmware, hardware-integration, and manufacturing issues using appropriate debugging tools and structured problem-solving.

- Own firmware development plans, estimates, tracking, risk management, and regular progress reporting.

- Strengthen development practices around version control, release management,documentation, verification, validation, and product maintenance.

- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure smooth integration of electronics, firmware,machine control, system software, vision algorithms, and mechanical systems.

Preferred candidate profile





- 8 - 12 years of experience in embedded systems or firmware design and development.

- Strong hands-on experience developing production firmware in C for microcontroller-and/or microprocessor-based systems.

- Experience across the complete firmware lifecyclefrom requirements and architecture through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

- Good understanding of RTOS concepts, real-time embedded design, state machines, and system-level software architecture.

- Experience with at least 4 - 5 embedded firmware development projects.

- Ability to read and review electronic schematics and work effectively with hardware design teams.

- Practical experience in board bring-up, hardware debugging, and tools such as logic analysers, in-circuit emulators, debuggers, and related test equipment.

- Experience defining software APIs, sequence flows, state-machine diagrams, and interface specifications.

- Familiarity with Python for scripting, testing, tooling, or system interaction.

- Experience with version control, release processes, requirements definition, and software verification and validation.

- Exposure to platforms such as Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Jetson, or similar single-board computers is desirable.

- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a small engineering team.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create technical documentation and present ideas effectively.

- A collaborative, ownership-oriented mindset and comfort working in a hands-on product-development or startup/MSME workplace.
