Firmware Engineer – Embedded Systems

Role:

We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to develop a modular and scalable firmware platform for microcontroller-based hardware. The engineer will be responsible for hardware interfacing, device drivers, communication protocols, and configurable firmware.

Responsibilities:

Develop firmware using Embedded C/C++ for Arduino, STM32, ESP32 or similar microcontrollers.

Develop drivers/interfaces for buttons, switches, potentiometers, encoders, LEDs, displays, servos, stepper motors, sensors, relays and other I/O devices.

Implement GPIO, ADC, PWM, timers, interrupts, filtering, debouncing and calibration.

Develop USB/Serial and communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB HID, etc.

Design a Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and reusable device-driver architecture.

Develop a configurable/preset-based firmware system where hardware pins, devices and parameters can be configured through PC software without rewriting firmware.

Implement device detection, identification, configuration, error handling and firmware updates.

Debug firmware and hardware using serial tools, multimeters,



oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Work closely with hardware/PCB and software teams to integrate firmware with the overall system.

Maintain firmware documentation, version control and testing.

Required Skills:

Strong Embedded C/C++ knowledge.

Hands-on experience with Arduino / STM32 / ESP32 or similar MCUs.

Positive understanding of GPIO, ADC, PWM, UART, USB, I2C, SPI and interrupts.

Experience in embedded communication protocols and device drivers.

Knowledge of Git, debugging and hardware testing.

Good understanding of electronics and microcontroller-based systems.

FreeRTOS / RTOS

USB HID

Bootloaders and firmware update mechanisms

PCB debugging

74HC165 / 74HC595 and I/O expanders

- Experience developing **generic/configurable firmware platforms

Qualification:

B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech in ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering or related fields.

- Freshers with strong hands-on embedded projects may also be considered.
