Job Responsibilities:
Daily Operations & Inspections
- Inspect Equipment: Check fire extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lights regularly.
- Spot Hazards: Identify blocked exits, faulty wiring, or unsafe chemical storage.
- Enforce Work Permits: Supervise high-risk tasks like hot work (welding) and confined space entries.
- Conduct Toolbox Talks: Lead short daily or weekly safety meetings with the team
Emergency Preparedness & Response
- Plan Evacuations: Design clear emergency exit routes and post visible safety signs.
- Run Mock Drills: Organize routine fire drills to test response times and staff readiness.
- Lead During Incidents: Direct building evacuations and coordinate with professional firefighters or emergency services
Training & Compliance
- Train Staff:
Teach employees how to use fire extinguishers and follow fire safety protocols.
- Ensure Compliance: Follow local and national fire codes and safety regulations.
- Investigate Incidents: Lead investigations after accidents or near-misses to find root causes and prevent repeats.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate logs of equipment checks, training sessions, and safety audits.
