Who we are.
LightYears Health is on a mission to redefine how India ages, not with fear, but with science. We make clinically validated nutrition products for people who refuse to slow down: the 55-year-old who still lifts, the woman navigating menopause on her own terms, the 70-year-old who outruns her grandchildren.
We're not a supplement company. We're a preventive health company, building evidence-backed wellness products across arthritis, pain management, and hormonal health. And we're just getting started.
Our R&D; team includes PhDs from IIT Delhi and Jamia Hamdard University. Incubated at MIT Sloan. Grounded in science, built on trust, powered by hustle.
Values that matter to us.
• Question the status quo: we question the way things are done and encourage people to try new ways of doing things, as long as the risks are calculated.
• Transparency: We believe in an environment of complete, radical transparency. There are no wrong questions.
• Go-getter spirit: We're dealing with big problems and competitors with deep pockets. You're joining a team that solves difficult problems with creativity and hustle.
• Obsessed with finding and solving consumer pain points: As a team, we're fixated on serving our consumers and keeping the consumer's needs before all else.
• Be nimble & get your hands dirty: we're at a stage of growth where agility and nimbleness are essential. This requires our team at every level to get their hands dirty to get work done.
The role.
We sell across our own website, Amazon, Flipkart and quick commerce, which means every rupee of revenue arrives through a different settlement cycle, with a different fee structure, and sometimes comes back as an RTO. We need a Chartered Accountant who can make our numbers clean, timely and trustworthy, and who can lead the Accounts team that keeps them that way. Working closely with the founders, you will own:
• Tally oversight: Owning the accuracy of every expense and revenue entry in Tally. Reviewing entries posted by the Accounts team for correct ledger classification, GST treatment and supporting documentation, and running a disciplined month-end close.
• Bookkeeping discipline: Keeping our books audit-ready at all times: clean ledgers, complete vouchers, reconciled bank and payment-gateway accounts, and up-to-date vendor and customer balances. If an auditor asks for it, it should take minutes to find, not days.
• Monthly MIS:
Preparing and presenting a monthly MIS to the founders by a fixed date each month: P&L;, channel-level contribution, cash flow, working capital and revenue. Not just the numbers, but what they mean and what we should do about them.
• Inventory and COGS accounting: Reconciling stock across our warehouses, Amazon FBA and quick commerce dark stores against the books every month. Accounting for landed cost, COGS, and write-offs for damage and expiry, so our gross margins are real and not estimates.
• Unit economics and budgeting: Tracking SKU and channel-level margins after COGS, logistics, marketplace fees, RTOs and ad spend. Building the annual budget with the founders and tracking actuals against it every month.
• Cash flow and working capital: Forecasting cash on a rolling 13-week basis. Running a disciplined vendor payment cycle, tracking receivables from quick commerce and B2B partners who pay on credit, and pursuing marketplace reimbursement claims so no money is left on the table.
• GST and TDS compliance: Owning regular GST and TDS filings end to end, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, input tax credit reconciliation, reconciling TCS and TDS deducted by marketplaces, TDS deduction and quarterly returns, and issuing TDS certificates. On time, every time.
• Payroll and statutory compliance: Processing monthly payroll accurately and on time. Managing TDS on salaries and employee statutory contributions, including PF, ESI and Professional Tax as they apply to a growing team.
• Annual returns and filings: Managing annual compliance, including GST annual returns, income tax returns, ROC filings, and coordinating with our statutory auditors through the year-end audit.
• Internal controls and investor readiness: Setting up approval limits, spend controls and a clean financial audit trail. Keeping investor reporting and due diligence data ready, so a fundraise never stalls on the finance function.
• Building the finance function: Helping us move from manual processes to integrated systems as we scale,
including connecting our order management system with Tally, and automating reconciliations that are done by hand today.
(The bare minimum) qualifications.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI).
- 2–5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a D2C, e-commerce or FMCG company, or at a CA firm handling consumer brand clients.
- Hands-on expertise in Tally Prime.
- Strong working knowledge of GST and TDS compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience reconciling marketplace settlements (Amazon, Flipkart, quick commerce) and inventory accounting is a strong plus.
- Exposure to investor reporting or fundraise due diligence is a plus.
Traits we value.
• Detail-Obsessed. A ledger that is 99% right is wrong. You take pride in books that reconcile to the rupee and you notice the entry that doesn't belong.
• A Data Geek. If you look at data for answers, this is the right job for you. You know what the right data is to collect, how often to collect it, and what insights to draw from it, and you can turn an MIS into a decision.
• An Owner. Deadlines for GST, TDS and ROC filings don't move, and neither do you. You own outcomes end to end without needing to be chased.
• A Keen Learner. A current company offers many challenges and opportunities, and each comes with a steep learning curve. We're looking for someone who embraces the learning process.
• Agility and Adaptability. As we scale, our operations will be nimble. You'll adapt to new channels, new systems and new ways of working, and look for ways to automate what others do by hand.
• An interest in health and fitness. We are building a team of healthcare geeks. An interest in nutrition, longevity and healthy ageing is preferred (though not required).
