About the role

You will be the primary finance lead across our APAC entities, responsible for all monthly reporting, statutory compliance (including audit), tax, and treasury activity in the region.

There are currently five entities: Singapore, India, Australia, Hong Kong and South Korea. You will have the benefit of the local Global Transactional Finance team based in India, and work closely with the NORAM/EMEA Finance Manager. The NORAM/EMEA Finance Manager holds overall global process ownership for transactional finance.

The role carries a genuine learning curve in the early months — our entity footprint spans multiple APAC jurisdictions, each with its own compliance calendar and regulatory requirements. Once you have built that knowledge and systematised the recurring work, the role evolves into a broader operational remit, being responsible for the financial reporting in the region and optimising finance activities.

This is a role for a self-starter who can operate without heavy oversight and build processes from scratch. With the company scaling at speed, there are likely to be additional direct reports in time, the role requires someone who can manage both local and remote employees with genuine care and rigour.

Key responsibilities

Statutory compliance and tax

- Own the statutory filing calendar across all APAC entities
- Manage GST/VAT returns and equivalent indirect tax filings across relevant APAC jurisdictions (including Singapore GST and India GST)
- Coordinate with local advisers on corporate tax filings and ensure deadlines are met

- Maintain compliance with local regulatory requirements including company registry filings, annual accounts, and any local payroll tax obligations in APAC entities

Treasury

- Manage cash positioning and intercompany funding across APAC entities
- Maintain banking relationships and ensure adequate liquidity across jurisdictions
- Support foreign exchange management and flag exposure to the Head of finance

Transactional finance — assist in the success of this team

- While the NORAM/EMEA Finance Manager holds overall global process ownership for transactional finance, there will be touch points in this role, and an expectation that a good Finance Manager will help ensure the success of this team.
- Collaborate with the NORAM/EMEA Finance Manager to:
- Help to identify and support continuous improvement
- Ensure the transactional team has the tools and support to operate effectively across all entities
- Optimise the transactional framework, including process standards, controls, and reconciliation processes

Revenue recognition

- Own revenue recognition across all APAC entities in accordance with IFRS 15, and US GAAP/ASC 606 where required for group consolidation
- Review customer contracts to determine correct recognition treatment — including multi-element arrangements,

variable consideration, and contract modifications
- Ensure revenue is recognised in the correct period and entity, and that deferred revenue balances are properly maintained
- Liaise with the NORAM/EMEA Finance Manager where contracts span multiple regions, with the contracting entity FM holding primary recognition responsibility
- Support the Group Financial Controller on judgement areas or technical accounting questions arising from complex deals

Oversight of local payroll

- Provide oversight and review of payroll processed for APAC entities
- Approve payroll submissions and ensure compliance with local statutory payroll obligations (e.g. India PF/ESI, gratuity)

What we're looking for
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent)
- Solid working knowledge of GST/VAT and multi-jurisdiction statutory compliance across APAC
- Experience managing or overseeing a remote and local teams - high trust, high accountability
- Comfortable working independently across multiple entities and time zones
- Organised and process-driven, with a track record of building and systematising finance operations
- Familiarity with local and US GAAP is advantageous but not essential

What to expect in the first six months
- Months 1–2: Immersion — getting across all entities, compliance calendars, and existing processes
- Months 3–4: Systematising recurring compliance work and establishing rhythm with the transactional team
- Months 5–6: Operating independently across the full remit with minimal oversight
